Job 41 speaks of PRIDE. We could all probably say we have pride in some area. We can be prideful of ministry, prideful of success, prideful of our heritage, our job, etc. In Job 41:1-3, he asks the question, "Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? Or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? Canst thou put a hook into his nose? Or bore his jaw through with a thorn? Will he make many supplications unto thee? Will he speak soft words unto thee?" Yes, he will!

Look down to verse 8, "Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more."

Verse 10, "None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?

Verses 15-16, "His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal. One is so near to another, that no air can come between them." As I read this, I thought of people who suffer from depression or heaviness. I walked through depression for 15 years. I know depression is a wicked thing that comes down over you, and you cannot always get it off in five minutes. Here, in the scriptures, it says that these scales are so close to one another that no air -- air is a picture of the Holy Spirit -- can come between them. This leviathan spirit wants to keep you from moving in the Holy Ghost. He wants to keep you from having experiences in the Holy Spirit. HE WANTS TO KEEP YOU OUT OF THE PRESENCE OF ALMIGHTY GOD.

We enter into the presence of God by praise, by thanksgiving, by worship. The leviathan spirit will shut you down if you allow it in your prayer life, praise life, thanksgiving and worship. I t will make you to where you cannot and will not come into the presence of the Lord, because "in His presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore." (Psalms 16:11).

Now, if you suffer from depression, the greatest thing you need in your life is joy. We get that in the presence of the Lord. I do not mean you go around all the time, bubbling over every five minutes. It is something that is working in you. Joy is experieuced inwardly first, then it is expressed on the countenance.

It says in Job 41: 16-17, "...that no air can come between them. They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered." The HOLY SPIRIT CAN SUNDER ANYTHING. He can cut through anything. We have to be willing to let Him do it.

Verses 18-19, "By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out." This is where you can ideutify Leviathan. What does Leviathan do? It will tear up churches, homes, individual lives. It will do whatever it can to destroy a home or a church; by words, by a false fire leaping out of the mouth, by a destructive mouth.

Turn to Psalms 74. I want to show you this kind of spirit that wauts to destroy God's people and God's work. Have you ever been in a group like that? It can come in quickly or subtly, behind the scenes, and all of a sudden every thing is in a blaze. Psalms 74:1, "O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? Why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?" The margin says, "Why have you rejected us?" God does not reject us. Our thinking thinks that, sometimes.

Verses 2-3, "Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt. Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual (continual) desolations (have you ever been in a situation where the destruction, the turmoil, the depression, the heaviness, every thing you are in seems as though it was continual?); even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary." Where is the sanctuary today? IT IS IN US!! It is not in a building, but in us.

Verse 4, "Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations (the word roar means they are speaking out things. They are speaking out death and destruction, right in the midst of the church); they set up their ensigns for signs." They have their signs.

Verses 5-6, "A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees. But now they break down the carved work (that is you and I) thereof at once with axes and hammers." That is what the enemy wants to do. He wants to come in to destroy. He wants to come with his chainsaw and cut everyone down.

Verse 7, "They have cast fire into thy sanctuary..." This is a false fire. This is a false anointing. This is strange fire that has come into the sanctuary. It is divination. It is witchcraft. It can also be false prophecy, false dreams, false visions. Divination and witchcraft have come into the sanctuary. Look at that again. "They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground."

Verse 8, "They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land." Notice, they burned up all of the synagogues. The attack is on the people of God. The enemy is determined to burn you up and consume you with destruction. So many of us just put up with it and let it go on, but it is time to rise up and say, "Hey, buddy, you are not going any farther. You are not throwing any more fire in my sanctuary. I'm going to deal with you with the real fire!"

Verse 9, "We see not our signs..." What are the signs that follow us? That in "My name you will cast out devils, heal the sick, drink any deadly thing and it will not hurt you, take up or remove serpents (which means to remove them, not handle them)." These signs are our signs. Yes, there is raising the dead, casting out devils, and healing the sick. Yet, in this verse, it says we do not have our signs. How many churches can you go into and never see a sign or wonder? I am not saying every time we meet together, it is going to happen; there are conditions. We must have signs that follow us. We do not follow signs, but they must follow us, as we declare the truth or the Word of God.

Not only do they burn up the synagogues, and there are no more signs, but "...there is no more any prophet (this is a ministry which brings fresh revelation to the church): neither is there among us any that knoweth how long." "How long is it going to go on, Lord?" One year, two years, ten years?

Verse 10, "O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? Shall the eneniy blaspheme thy name for ever?" Have you ever asked that question?

Now look down at verse eleven; it is a key. "Why withdrawest thou thy hand..." What does the hand speak of? The apostle, prophet, teacher, shepherd and evangelist. "Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? Pluck it out of thy bosom." Notice, it was a specific hand. The right hand! That is the hand of power and authority. "Pluck it out of thy bosom." Did Jesus come out of the bosom of the father? Yes, He did. John 1:18 says that. God is bringing forth out of His bosom today His overcomers, His manchild, this son of the right hand. What we are reading in these scriptures will go on until God raises up His manchild, His sons, His overcomers.

Individually, we have power over leviathan. We do not have to allow it to happen. You show me any church in the land that is moving on with God; there will be many problems in that church. I do not care if it is at the top, middle or bottom; there are problems in every group. God is teaching us some warfare. WE ARE NOT TO WAR AGAINST ONE ANOTHER. We are not fighting each other, but we are fighting principalities and powers.

IT IS NOT YOUR BROTHER OR YOUR SISTER YOU ARE FIGHTING! The enemy may use a brother or sister, but THE DEVIL IS OUR REAL ENEMY AND ADVERSARY, not each other.

Look in Psalms 74:13-15, "Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters (humanity). Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness. Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers." Here we are dealing with leviathan. We see the enemy has come in, and has roared among the people of God, among the sanctuary. He is burning the sanctuary up. He is destroying the sanctuary of God, because he had been let loose. David is feeling this in the whole chapter of Psalms 74. Yet, in one sense, David seems to be saying, "Why have you cast us off? Why is your anger smoking against the sheep?" God wants us to take our authority. GOD WANTS US TO RISE UP! I can come to you over aud over again for help. That is good, sometimes. But we must learn to stand on our own two feet. We all have power in the name of Jesus. We have the blood of Jesus. We have the Holy Ghost. God will come to our rescue. We do not always have to have someone around to help us, because we have the power and authority in the name of Jesus.

I want to deal with the tongue of leviathan. Accusation is of the enemy. Criticism is of the enemy. The fire that is let loose causes a blaze, whether in a home or in a church. What I see with this leviathan spirit is that there is a false holy place counterfeiting the true Holy Place. What is the Holy Place? It is our mind, will, emotions and desires. When you receive salvation, you enter the outer court. Then you receive the Holy Spirit; you begin to function in the body of Christ. You go into the Holy Place. Then God begins leading us into the Holy of Holies, the fulness of His Spirit. God is leading us to His fulness.

Now in leviathan, you see a false counterfeit of the Holy Place. What was in the Holy Place? You had the shewbread, the lampstand and the golden altar of incense. The priest ate of the bread in the light of the candlestick. The High Priest became a worshipper right in the Holy Place, before he entered the Holy of Holies. If you look back in Job 41:19, "Out of his mouth (this could be false tongues, false prophecy, false teaching, anything that is false that we project) go burning lamps (how many lamps were iri the Holy Place? Seven! Notice, it says out of his mouth goes bunting laitips, this is that false fire), and sparks of fire leap out." Sparks of fire leap out, and notice: it is coming out of his mouth. It is false fire, false anointing, coming out of his mouth.

Verse 20, "Out of his nostrils goeth smoke..." This is a counterfeit to the Golden Altar of Incense. When the incense was put on the fire, the smoke would rise up in the Holy Place. Here is counterfeit smoke. Here is a counterfeit worship, counterfeit praise, counterfeit prayer and tlianksgiving. "Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth." Notice the flame. What happened on the day of Pentecost? There were flames of fire set over the people, right? They began to speak, of course, by the Spirit, and by the fire under the unction of the Holy Spirit. It says, "His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth." This is a false anointing. Have you ever seen
that false anointing in people? I have. There would be an anointing, but I knew it was a false anointing. Nostrils speak also of a false discernment. Breath, again, speaks of a false anointing.

Verse 22, "In his neck..." The neck speaks of the will. If you have a lot of neck and back problems, there could be a leviatlian spirit working against you. It can be in the neck, back (or) shoulders. I am talking about pain that is continual. There could be a spirit of leviathan that is wrapped around your backbone. It may come out by writhing, or twisting like an old serpent. It can come out of the body like this many times.

Python works that way, too. People can have a python spirit. One person I knew could never receive the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. When she was delivered from the python spirit, she immediately received the Holy Ghost. This is why many cannot receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit; they are bound with demons.

Verses 22-24, "In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him. The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved. His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone."  Have you ever seen a Christian who is hard? You know why? No air is getting through. The Holy Spirit is not being allowed to cut those scales apart, and cut them asunder and hardness sets in.

Let me show you something else about leviathan.

All the self spirits are connected with leviathan. He buries himself in the self man. There are certain areas in our life that we do not want others to know about. When you are dealing with the enemy, you have to be honest with God and those that minister deliverance to you. There are some people who will hold you at a distance. They will let you cut off a few leaves, a few limbs, but "don't you dare come down to this root that lives down in my self life." But God knows everything about you and about me.

SO QUIT HIDING IT!
                  GET SET FREE!
                                        LET PRIDE GO!

Verse 24, "His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone." Pride will harden us if we allow it to remain there. When that hardness is there, there is not going to be any joy. There is not going to be a big smile. There is not going to be any laughter in the Lord. It is going to be death. It is hardness of heart.

Verse 31, "He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment." There are things in you and me that we do not know are there. Do you know there are things in your spirit man that you do not know are there? Paul said, "Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God." (2nd Corinthians 7:1). It says that this leviathan spirit makes the deep to boil like a pot. Listen, if we could see things the way God sees things, we would see a boiling pot in a lot of churches and groups of people. God is letting that thing boil up to a place where we can get some help, if we desire it. Sometimes, people lose their cool; lose their temper and everyone just turns them off. Something is boiling over, the pot is smoking, yet God wants you to be set free from all that anger.

Verse 34, "He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride." Pride, haughtiness, that which is arrogant, conceited, inflated, puffed up are high things. Leviathan is the king over all the children of pride. So that means if there is an area of pride in me, who do you think is controlling that area? Leviathan! Pride of position, pride of power, pride of who I am, pride of what I possess are all controlled by leviathan.

Go back to Job 41:16, "One is so near to another, that no air can come between them." No air can come between his scales of pride. Have you ever heard people say, "I never get a word from the Lord." "I never hear from God." Or, "I never move in the gifts of the Holy Spirit"? There is something holding them back. Jesus died for the whole world. Our salvation not only includes being forgiven, but, also, we can be filled with the Holy Ghost and be used by God in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. God gives gifts that differ one from another. God wants to use each one of us. I want to tell you something, there is that spirit of leviathan that holds you back from moving out in the Spirit. It holds you back from hearing from the Holy Spirit. Once that spirit begins to be removed, then you will hear from God, and God will move on you and in you, anew and afresh with Gifts of the Holy Spirit. I have seen it happen. The more deliverance I submit to, the more I can move in the Spirit. My discernment also increases.

There are religious spirits over the city of Tulsa, Oklahoma. I am not coming against any person, but there are religious spirits over this city. I believe leviathan is part of it, to hold the people down, hold them back, bind them up, where they cannot move in the Spirit. You just have to pray and pray until you break through, because we are warring against principalities and powers. No demon can stand before the blood of Jesus. No demon is more powerful than Jesus.

Turn to Leviticus 26:19. "And I will break the pride of your power (not God's power, but your power. Men in power can be very prideful); and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass." When that happens, there will not be any move of the Holy Spirit. There is not going to be any outpouring. There is not going to be any gifts flowing. There is not going to be any joy in the camp. What is the culprit here? IT IS PRIDE! It is pride among the people of God. When that spirit is broken, I guarantee the heavens will open, and the earth will open up. The earth will no longer be brass and the heaven will no longer be iron. You will be open to the Holy Spirit.

I want to show you that leviathan is connected with the water. Let us go back (to) Psalms 74:13, "Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters." He is talking about the sea aud the dragons in the waters.

Go over to Isaiah 27:1. "In that day the Lord with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea (humanity)." What is God going to do? He is going to slay him with the sword. It is going to take the sword to slay leviathan. What is the sword? The Word of God!

Psalms 104:25-28, "So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts. There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein. These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season. That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good." Notice, connected with leviathan is the sea.

What else I see, with this leviathan spirit, is the spirit of the world or the Egyptian spirit. Ezekiel 29:2-3, "Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh (Pharaoh is a picture of Satan and he is the king of the world -- lust of the eye, lust of the flesh, pride of life) king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt: Speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great dragon that lieth in the midst of his rivers, which hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself."

You remember when we first started out with the teaching in the first scripture in Job? "Who can bring leviathan out with hooks?" Look at the verses in Ezekiel 29:4-5, "But I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales, and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, and all the fish of thy rivers shall stick unto thy scales. And I will leave thee thrown into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open fields; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered: I have given thee for meat to the beast of the field and to the fowls of the heaven." With this leviathan spirit, there is Pharaoh aud Egypt.

I believe the Holy Spirit asked me in my heart -- "Why do people backslide; why do people turn from the Lord?" It came to me, the reason is because they will not deal with their former life. The Lord gave me the scriptures in Numbers 14:1-4 and Acts 7:39, where Israel wanted to go back to Egypt. You know why they wanted to go back to Egypt? Egypt was in their hearts.

That is why God must deliver us and set us free from the strongholds, because we do not always know our hearts.

I waut to show you this spirit of Egypt. It is perverse. Isaiah 19:13, "The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof. The Lord hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit. Neither shall there be any work for Egypt (that is poverty), which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do. In that day shall Egypt be like unto women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the Lord of hosts, which he shaketh over it."

Leviathan, I believe, is behind people getting involved with the world, the spirit of this world, the spirit of this age. Satan is called the god of this world, the god of this age. We are in the world, but not of it. God is going to take out of us the love for this world. When that happens, the world will hate us, as the world did Jesus.

Exodus 18:10, "And Jethro said, Blessed be the Lord, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, (he blessed the Lord; we must bless the Lord for our deliverance) and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians." We are not under the nation of Egypt today, but there are spirits of Egypt that want to bind and coutrol us, which is the spirit of the world. Behind the spirit of the world is pride or leviathan.

Verse 11, "Now I know that the Lord is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them." Israel was under this prideful thing of Egypt. Yet, God was greater than those gods. HE WAS ABOVE THEM!! He is above leviathan that is in our life. He is above the spirit of the world that is in our life. He is above those gods.

With leviathan, there are learning disabilities. How many have had children or grandchildren that have that problem? Or maybe we have that problem. There are people that read the Bible, and they cannot tell you what they have read. They cannot even quote a scripture, because the enemy steals it from them. I believe it is connected with leviathan. They cannot comprehend that which they read.

Leviatliati comes because of a curse in the family, many times. When we see the hindering of the moving of the Holy Spirit in our life; when God is not speaking to us; when we are not moving out in the Spirit as we should, I believe it is leviathan.

I'll tell you what else is connected with leviathan: confusion.

CONFUSION IS OF LEVIATHAN.

Ouce confusion is cast out, clarity comes. The mind can think, the mouth can speak. A lot of the time, we cannot retain the Word because of that spirit.

GOD IS NOT THE AUTHOR OF CONFUSION.

What is not of faith is sin. Confusion is sin.

Those that fight deliverance the strongest are under a spirit of leviathan. Those who oppose the ministry of deliverance are under a spirit of leviathan. Many preachers do not believe in the ministry of deliverance. Many preachers do not believe a home or church can come under curses. Curses are real, today. The blessings are real, too. Pride in ministry is rampant. "Pride in MY preaching achievements, building programs, MY work for God." It becomes a big "I" ministry, and you do not hear the Word lifted up or Jesus lifted up, BUT SELF SURELY IS.

I believe with the spirit of leviathan is also the spirit of the serpent; the serpentine spirit. He is the piercing serpent and the crooked serpent (Isaiah 27:1). Moses had to contend with this spirit in the book of Exodus.

Remember what it says in 2nd Timothy 3:8-9? "Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses (here are two soothsayers, two psychics, two men in divination, standing against Moses, God's authority in the earth; this spirit is against God's authority), so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was." Did God manifest His power in Exodus to those soothsayers through Moses? Yes! (Look in Exodus 7). We are talking about the last days, here in 2nd Timothy, which shows us we are going to see more manifestations of God's power to reveal and expose the works of Satan; to reveal this leviathan spirit. There shall be a confrontation of light against darkness in these last days, through God's anointed servants.

Exodus 7:11-14, "Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents (this is the serpent spirit)..." There is a spirit called snake charming. There is the spirit of the charmer. That is occult.  "...but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. And he hardened Pharaoh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had said. And the Lord said unto Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go." It is that old prideful heart. He did not want to let the people go.

I believe this spirit is going to be manifested in these end times. As it was against Moses, so will it be against you and I. It says in 2nd Timothy 3:9, "But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was." God's power is going to be manifested against the devil's power. Satan will be on the run.

I believe that not only is the spirit of the charmer connected with leviathan, but also mourning. Not all mourning is of God, such as tears aud self-pity. Now, I believe in tears, but there are tears that are not always of God. We have all cried some self-pity tears along the way. Remember, self-pity is the devil's babysitter, free of charge.

Let me show you what comes with pride. Go to Proverbs 11:2. "When pride cometh, then cometh shame..." So shame is with pride. So when you deal with pride, you deal with shame.

Look in Proverbs 13:10. "Only by pride cometh contention..." Have you ever walked in a home where there is contention, or into a church where there was contention? You could feel it in the air. That is pride, religious pride!

Selfishness is connected with leviathan. I believe all the self spirits are connected with leviathan.

In the leviathan spirit is rebellion. With rebellion comes rejection and bitterness. When there is leviathan in a life, and there is much pride, I guarantee there is a lot of rebellion, rejection, bitterness, much sorrow, depression, oppression, and heaviness that follows.

Another sign of leviathan is restlessness or no contentment. What goes with restlessness? A vagabond spirit, gypsy spirit; driving and compulsive spirits. This spirit is not contented in any situation; (has) no inward sufficiency. It keeps you on the move continually and it wears you out.

Why are people falling from God? They reject the ministry of deliverance. The very ministry you reject is the one which will set you free and will help (keep) you from falling, especially deliverance.

Apostasy is connected with leviathan. Look in Proverbs 29:23. "A man's pride shall bring him low..." It will cause him to fall, "but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit."

Go to Proverbs 11:2. "When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom."

Proverbs 13:10, "Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom."

Proverbs 8:13, "The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate." All that is connected with leviathan.

Proverbs 16:18, "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."

Proverbs 18:12, "Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility."

Psalms 31:20, "Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues." So with leviathan comes strife. Remember, I said that leviathan manifests itself with the tongue.

Haughtiness, arrogance, restlessness, turmoil, fascination, apostasy, conceit, being puffed up, swelling, spirit of the counterfeit, slumber, contentiousness, quarreling, exaggeration, lying, stubbornness, intolerance, unteachableness -- there are a lot of things that go with the spirit of leviathan.

Here is how you know if you need deliverance. If there is rebellion, rejection or bitterness in your life, then you need deliverance.

Schizophrenia is connected with leviathan. Have you been around people who have more than one personality? They wear you out very quickly. We are not against these people. They need help. The root behind schizophrenia is rejection. With the schizophrenic, there is a lot of rejection. These things are deeply seated in people. Some people have mood swings. Have you ever seen people with mood swings -- up one day and down the next day? They fluctuate. I don't mean we feel the same every day, but yet, with some, it is evident that there are spirits.

You do not hear much teaching on leviathan. The churches do not teach on leviathan.

Go back to Job 41:8. "Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more." People say that you do not mess with leviathan. We have the blood of Jesus. We have Jesus' name. We do not have to be fearful.

Job 41:31-34, "He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment. He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary. Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear. He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride."

Leviathan is in politics. In the money system, there is pride. In the religious system, there is pride. All three speak of Babylon. Babylon is pride. God wants us to deal with pride in our lives, whichever way it has come in. Remember, leviathan is connected with the self spirits. There are a lot of self spirits.

Matthew 16:24, "Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." Mark 8:34, "And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me." Luke 9:23, "And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." The Lord is saying here that we need deliverance from self, and the only way we will totally receive it is to follow Him and deny ourselves. As we die out to self, then leviathan will not have a foothold in our lives.
 

HOW TO BE SET FREE FROM PRIDE (LEVIATHAN)

1. Recognize pride as a spirit.

2. Reject and renounce all of its working in your life.

3. Repent of it -- turn from it.

4. Restoration -- ask the Lord to restore the spirit of humility in you.

5. Remember, Satan fell because of pride (Ezekiel 28).

Proverbs 16:18, "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."

2nd Peter 1:10, "Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall." What things? Faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliuess, brotherly kindness, charity.

6. Release (by the Spirit) a crown of glory and diadem of beauty upon yourself and others for the crown of pride (Isaiah 28:1, 3, 5) .

7. Resist the devil (pride) and he will flee from you as you submit to God (James 4:7).

1st Samuel 15:23, "For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king." This word was given to Saul, the king, by Samuel. Notice, the Lord says "rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft." Rebellion and witchcraft are twin brothers. Stubbornness, iniquity and idolatry are also kin. Idolatry is related to covetousness. Really, we could look at it this way:

Rebellion and witchcraft work together; stubbornness, iniquity and idolatry work together, and idolatry and covetousness work together.

The word rebellion means bitterness. If you look in the Hebrew, it means "to be bitter." Most people who are rebellious are bitter.

There are a lot of schizophrenics in the land, in the world, and even in the church, that need help. It is just like any other spirit that people need to be set free from. It needs to be cast out.

The word "schizophrenia" means a split personality; to cleave; a division; a disintegration of personality. It also means a mental disorder characterized by a division or separation of mental function. Actually, the word speaks of double-mindedness.

Tlie Lord does not want us to be double-minded. To be double-minded means we are up today and down tomorrow; hot today and cold tomorrow. We are talking about being in the spirit today, and in the flesh tomorrow. It is the up and down that is the problem. James 1:5-8, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed (the sea represents humanity, the wind represents turbulence and turmoil coming in the soul). For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." In all his ways, a double-minded man is unstable. In everything he does, he is unstable.

Look in James 4:8, "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded." God wants to do a work in our hearts, in our inner man. He wants us to become strong in the inner man. The strength from your inner man must flow up into your mind, your will, (your) emotions and your desires. We need God to come into our inner man, to flow upward and push those things out of the soul.

There are different roots that are talked about in the scriptures. I can think of five kinds:

the root of foolishness (Job 5:3),
the root of rottenness (Isaiah 5:24),
the root of love of money (1st Timothy 6:10),
the root of bitterness (Hebrew 12:15),
the root of wormwood (Deuteronomy 29:18).

There are many roots in us. With a schizophrenic, there is a root of rebellion.

Jeremiah 1:8-10 speaks of the ministry of the prophet. "Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord. Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth (the anointed Word of God that God has put in the prophet). See, I have this day set thee over the nations (that can only be in the spirit) and over the kingdoms, to root out..." We do not like things rooted out. It hurts to cut roots out. Take a tree, for example. It takes awhile to cut the tree down and get to the roots. It takes a lot of hard work: the same in our life. There is hard work involved to get to the root of something. We need discernment and words of knowledge in order to root things out that are buried deep in us from our past and our bloodline. "...And to pull down, and to destroy (who would want that ministry? That is not popular), and to throw down, to build, and to plant." So you cannot build or plant until you root out, tear down aud destroy. These are three negative and two positive statements. This must happen in us. No one can say that they do not have a problem. We all have problems in different areas. It is easier to see the guy next to us with problems, than to see ourselves. We all have them, if we are honest with God.

WE ALL HAVE WEAKNESSES!

God will help us with those weaknesses.

Remember, John said in chapter 21:11 in the Book of Revelation, the light of the bride had come to a place where she was like the light of the Jasper stone, clear as crystal. There was no darkuess, no impurities, no mixture. Seeing through one another with God's eyes, and seeing the good in everyone, is where God wants us to come to. We need to see the good instead of the bad. What do we see most of the time? We see the bad. We see the negative. We see the things that are not good. We also speak negative words. We all need God to ZIP OUR LIP. "Set a watch over our mouth, Lord."

I said rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. With rebellion comes stubbornness. Stubbornness means that I am unteachable. If I am really stubborn, then that means no one can tell me anything. In 1st Samuel 15:23, idolatry was among the list. Idolatry means covetousness, which is lust and greed.

Rebellion is witchcraft.
It breeds stubbornness.
It breeds idolatry.
It breeds covetousness, lust aud greed.
All these things are in the area of rebellion.

What else comes in with rebellion, when we talk about the schizophrenic? There is BITTERNESS. When there is rebellion in us, there's also bitterness. With rebellion and bitterness comes one other thing -- REJECTION. Why do most kids rebel? Because there is a lot of rejection and bitterness in them. Have you ever gone through that in your own life in some area?

With rebellion, there is rejection, bitterness, and all the self spirits: self-will, selfishness; all those spirits come in. Remember, leviathan is buried in self.

2nd Timothy 3 is talking about the last days. Let me tell you what is happening right now. We are going to see these spirits manifest more openly than we have ever seen before. It is not only going to happen in the world, but even in the house of God. We are going to see spirits manifest openly. That means someone must have to have the power of God to set the people free. We cannot play "patty-cake" aud say "take your pill, go home and go to bed." No, people need help. Medication has helped many people, but when it comes to demonic power, medication is a Band-Aid.

I am not against anyone who takes medication. At one time, I took medicine for depression. I know, now, it was not the answer.

2nd Timothy 3:1-3, "This know also, that in the last days perilous (it means savage times, exceedingly fierce times; it means demonic times. It is the times we are in right now. If you do not believe it, look at all the death and killings across America. Mankind is shedding blood and God is allowing it. There is a lot of blood being shed. Why do you think those plagues of blood are coming in the Book of Revelation? Because man has shed blood, and God's wrath is coming upon the wicked.) times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection (That would take in abortion. When abortion is in the land, we have lost the real true love of motherhood.), trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent (Without self-control, there is no restraint. He is saying that in the last days, there will be those who will throw off all restraint; there will be no control of self), fierce, despisers of those that are good."

In rejection, rebellion and bitterness, you have all the self spirits coming into man. There is no restraint. The attitude of many is this: "I can do what I want, when I want to do it, and I am going to do it." Does that sound like our nation? Does that sound like our cities? Does that sound like the church? Does that sound like you and me?

Rejection comes in, many times, while in the womb or at birth. How can rejection come in the womb? Sometimes, we get it in our brain that we want a little boy. What if it is a little girl? And all nine months, we wait for this little bouncing boy to be born. Then it is a girl. There have been people who have been literally disappointed. So, as a result, rejection can set in, or the child is not wanted at all, or it is born in hard conditions, where there is lots of abuse, hurts and pain in the family. We know that today in America, there are many children born in homes, that would be better off if they could be adopted, because of the environment they are in, and the abuse that they go through. Much fear is imparted to the children, because of all the things that go on in families.  So they are born in homes where there is no love or security. They are insecure. There are so many things that can come in to us as a child. It is no wonder that so many are becoming schizophrenic. Their personalities have been warped; taken over by strong demonic forces.

What does bitterness do? Look in Hebrews 12:15. "Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled." If you smoke, did you know the devil would be willing to exchange your cigarettes for bitterness? Do you know he would take the pressure off, and let you give that cigarette up, if he can put bitterness in you? Bitterness is worse than smoking. Smoking is an outward display of something wrong inside. It is a bad habit. Smoking is not a strong-rooted spirit. Bitterness can be the underlying current that causes people to smoke, that causes people to drink, causes people to do things they should not do. lt may be the very root we have to go after. We must cut the root, not just the leaves and limbs. Bitterness, I believe, can cause cancer in our bodies, as well.

Hebrews 12:15 says, "...lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled." How is it going to defile others? That venom is going to spew out and be imparted to other people, if they open up to it. You can come into a room where people are talking about the Lord; there is joy and happiness, and it will affect you. But you go into a room where there is bitterness, hate and cursing, that can affect you, too. This means there can be an impartation or a transference of spirits into us from someone else. He said, "many be defiled." Of course, he is talking about Esau who was bitter against Jacob. Esau was going to kill Jacob. He wanted to kill Jacob. Esau's intent and purpose was to destroy his brother, because of what Jacob had done to him. Esau had sold his birthright to Jacob.

What goes with bitterness? Anger, resentment, hatred, retaliation, defiance, unforgiveness, violeuce, temper, murder.

Saul had bitterness against David. He not only had bitterness, but he also had jealousy. With jealousy, there can be rage, murder, and bitterness.

1st Samuel 18:7-8, "And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands (Saul almost had a heart attack). And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed unto David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed but thousands: and what can he have more but the kingdom?" He was jealous of David. In fact, he hated David. Verses 9-12, "And Saul eyed David from that day and forward. And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul (that rage and jealousy opened him up to a demon spirit), and he prophesied in the midst of the house (can you see that not all prophecy is from God? There can be false prophecy, too): and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul's hand. And Saul cast the javelin; for he said, I will smite David even to the wall with
it. And David avoided out of his presence twice. Aud Saul was afraid of David, because the Lord was with him, and was departed from Saul." lt seems like Saul was a schizophrenic. The bitterness, the rejection, jealousy and rage was against David. These feelings Saul had against David opened Saul up to this spirit. David did not do anything against Saul.

Schizophrenia is like a storm that comes blowing in. Think of a hurricane or typhoon, with the wind going in every direction; that is how schizophrenia affects people. It can blow into your home; it can come into your church; it can come on your job; it is in people. A person's personality, who has this spirit, can change very rapidly and quickly. You cannot reason with that spirit, especially with their sudden mood swings.

I want to give you one more scripture on bitterness. James 3:14-15, "But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts (Can a Christian have that? Sure!), glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish." This bitter envy and strife is earthly, soulish and demonic; it is in our hearts. Verse 16, "For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work."

There are two kinds of wisdom. There is one from beneath, and there is one from above. Verses 17-18, "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace." There is an earthly wisdom and a heavenly wisdom. One brings bitter envying and strife. It is earthly, sensual and devilish.

People who have a lot of rejection in them feel no love. In fact, many times they fight against those that try to love them. They cannot release love like they should. If they were never lovcd, it is very hard for them to release love, or even to know what love really is. Where there is no love, many times, there is no security. They feel inferior and rejected. Life is just not real; it is unreal to them.

Mental illness is real, today, because of demonic spirits. Isaiah 44:25, "That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, aud maketh their knowledge foolish." Notice the word "diviners" -- that is divination and witchcraft. Those that move under the spirit of witchcraft and divination make people mad.

Divination can be imparted many ways. One way is by the laying on of hands. "Lay hands suddenly on no man; be not partakers of other men's sins; keep thyself pure." (1st Timothy 5:22). If others lay hands on you, and if they have the spirit of divination in them, and you open your heart up, that spirit can come right in you. I have been hit many times when people come up quickly, lay hands on me and stand praying over me. I do not like anyone to do that to me, and I do not want to do that to others, unless the Lord directs me.

"...And maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish." Insanity can come in through a false prophet. We need to judge everything that has been given to us. It can come in through dreams and visions. There are many ways it can come. Now, I do not want to put fear in you. I have seen in meetings, people laying hands on each other. I am against that, unless the Spirit has really spoken. You do not know who is next to you or behind you. There could be, sitting next to you, someone that is heavy in the occult. If I open up to that person, then I am opening up to a wrong spirit. Spirits are transferred by the laying on of hands.

There is a lot of mental illness in the church. Insanity, madness, lunacy, mania, retardation, senility, hallucination, paranoia, irrational behavior, "being beside oneself," "playing without a full deck," loss of mental alertness, loss of energy, difficulty in remembering, not making sense, fearful that someone is trying to hurt you or destroy you -- are all spirits involved in schizophrenia. There are Christians that are fearful. We must watch out for these things. Now, do not be fearful, and think you cannot go anywhere, and do anything that the Lord is directing you to do. Do not be fearful. Do not let the enemy stop you.

With schizophrenia, there is a lot of sexual perversion. To overcome rejection, a person can yield to perversion. You cannot satisfy genuine love, and the devil's substitute is perversion. It may be homosexuality or any perversion, such as fornication and adultery. We have to be honest with God and deal with lust.

Let us go back to rebellion. If rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, with rebellion, you not only have the spirit of witchcraft, but also the spirit of the witch or wizard. Look in Leviticus 20:27. "A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them." Look in verse 6. "And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people."

What does witchcraft do? It is a controller. It manipulates, intimidates, dominates; it is Jezebel. How does Jezebel operate? It operates out of our soul. God operates through your spirit, and Jezebel operates out of your mind. Otherwise, you bring a word out of your soul, saying it is God. God will speak through your spirit. Jezebel uses the soul.

It takes some time to set a person free that has this spirit in their life. DELIVERANCE IS LIKE PEELING AN ONION. You get one layer off, and you have to go after another layer. For instance, let us say there is a person 33 years of age. He has had this spirit all of his life. He has had it for 33 years. That spirit is buried deep down in this person, in his personality. It is going to take some time to get that spirit totally out. I know God can do a quick work, but I do not always see the Lord zapping people, and taking it out that quick. That would shock the person. In the Old Testament, God said His people would come into the land little by little and overcome "lest the beast multiply against them." There are areas in us that we will not overcome just overnight. We are not going to be set free, many times, all at once. A lot of meetings you go to, the people say a prayer of faith. They say, "Now you are set free!" and the person still has the demons in them, or the same problem as before.  I am not criticizing any person, but please hear this... when I went through depression for 15 years, I thank God for the people who prayed for me, but it was deliverance that helped me. lt is a shame you do not see much deliverance in the church. But I want to tell you that before Jesus comes, it will be one of the keys to bring Satan down.

Deliverance is not the whole ball of wax. It is part of the kingdom of God. Many people get deliverance, and that is all they want to talk about. You have to have all the other gospel as well. Deliverance is not all the kingdom; again, it is part of the kingdom.

In a schizophrenic, there is depression, despair, despondency, discouragement, defeatism (I have seen a lot of Christians defeated. Most of the time, it is because we have taken our eyes off of Jesus and put them on something else), hopelessness, suicide, death (many people talk about death. There are people you can't sit down and have a normal conversation with. lt is all gloom aud doom. There is something in the personality that holds them back), insomnia, morbidity, heaviness, gloom, burdened down, depression, etc. They need to be set free by God's power.

In Mark chapter five, a man had a legion of demons. Do you kuow how many demons that is? 6,000. Can you imagine having 6,000 demonis in you? This man that had all these spirits was forced to live alone. He was isolated. Brethren, the devil wants you to be isolated.

This man was crying out in agony and pain. There are a lot of people today, who are crying out for help, but do not know where to get it, or who to go to. People need help. On the other hand, you cannot help everyone. You are not big enough. I am not big enough. One thiug I have seen in the ministry of deliverance is that you have to be able to say "NO," sometimes, to people. People will wear you out. Other times, you have to be able to get right in the battle aud set them free. When you are weak and tired, you cannot really minister effectively to others. Yet, sometimes, we have done it because we loved the people. You have to be able to say no. I have known deliverauce ministries who actually could not say no to people, when they were worn out, physically.

This man in Mark 5 was crying in agony and pain. He was hurting aud tormented. He was under intense mental pressure. He wanted to kill himself. He was cutting himself with rocks, blood going in every direction. There was agitation, there was no peace, total restlessuess, insomnia. He could not be quiet. He was also naked (there is such a spirit, now on television, of nakedness. People who take their clothes off in public are like this guy. They have demons, unclean, perverse spirits). He was lewd and nude.

He was rebellious against God. There was perversion in that man's life. The man was in that state, because the demons were in him, aud the demons tore his clothes off of him. In America aud in Hollywood, we see this. They like to broadcast it. They like publicly to broadcast that kind of thing, and pervert not only the adults, but also the children in this land. It is time that someone starts praying against that spirit in Hollywood and in the nation; not against people, but against this spirit of perversion.

Mental illness, we know, is attributed to the work of demons. There is something else I see. I see insanity in this man. Look in Mark 5:15. "And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil (there was one ruling spirit, aud he brought all the others in with him), and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid." Can you imagine people being afraid of this man who was in his right mind? Look at parents who find out their children go to Holy Ghost meetings, get saved, filled with the Holy Spirit, aud they think they are in some kind of cult power, and they would prefer them to be doing what they were doing before. "...and in his right mind: and they were afraid." That is crazy. They were out of their mind.

Mark 5:16-18, "And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine. And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts. And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him."

Where is Jesus? He is in His body today. That is the proof: when you are set free, you want to be with Jesus. You want to be where His body is, because where the body is, that is where Jesus is today.

Verses 19-20, "Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel."

1. You want to be with Jesus. 2. You are going to spread abroad what the Lord has done for you. You are not ashamed of Him. You thauk God for that miracle, and you are going to let others kuow that Jesus has set you free.

I believe schizophrenia is a curse. Why does a curse come? Deuteronomy 28:15 tells us: because we would not hearken to the voice of the Lord and observe His commandments. We would not do what God says to do, so, as a result, these curses come.

Deuteronomy 28:28, "The Lord will smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment (bewilderment) of heart." It is a spirit that is in people. Have you heard the saying, "He went berserk, or she went berserk?" You think of all the murders that are taking place today. A guy goes crazy, and he kills all these people in the postal service department or a restaurant. Those are troops of demons, or a company of demons sent forth to destroy humanity.

Remember, we saw the word idolatry in 1st Samuel 15:23. In Jeremiah 50:38, "A drought is UPON her waters; and they shall be dried up (the worst thing a Christian can be in is a drought): for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols." Idolatry brings forth madness. It is also a sign of drought, which means the curse, no life, death and all that goes with it.

Go to Daniel 4. Nebuchadnezzar had a problem. He had a beast mind. Verse 25, "That they (the demons) shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen (sounds like the man in Mark 5), and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will." What opened the man up to this? What opened Nebuchadnezzar to this spirit? PRIDE! He said, "Is this not the great Babylon that I have built?" When he said that, he was taken over by demon spirits.

Look in verse 33. "The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven (spirits drive people) from men (this spirit drives you away from people), and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws." He looked like a beast, living with the beast, and he was a beast.

Verse 34, "And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned (he had lost his understanding) unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation."

Verses 35-37, "And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counselors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me. Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase." Pride opened him up. When he opened up to that spirit, he lived like a beast. He was a beast, until God restored him.

There is a spirit of madness that takes hold of people. It drives people crazy or insane. Our hearts should go out to those that are hurting. Remember, you can only help those that want help. There are people who do not want help.

Hosea 9:7, "The days of visitation are come (God is going to visit us in this end time), the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad (insanity), for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred." This insanity spirit is loosed. This madness is loosed, even on a spiritual man, because of imquity and great hatred.

Babylon is the religious, economic and political system. I do not think we should get involved in politics, like people are doing today. We need to vote, and know what is going on, but not to get in that arena with them. It will take your mind off of Jesus. Jeremiah 51:7, "Babylon hath been a golden cup in the Lord's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad." The nations are mad, because they drank from the wine of Babylon. You can read that in Revelation 17 and 18.

People who are schizophrenic turn to drugs and alcohol, many times. I heard someone say, "Sip a little sauce for your stomach's sake, but you will lose your brain while using it."

Alzheimer's disease is on the rise. There is a hospital in a small town in Oklahoma, that has the largest number of Alzheimer's patients for the size of the town, than in any other city in the country.

I want to tell you something. Jesus shed His blood. A crown of thorns was put on His head; they smote Him, and that blood ran down from His head. That blood was shed from His head, so that we could be healed of insanity, schizophrenia, Alzheimer's, and of those things that affect the mind.

Here are some proofs of insanity: "I can't handle it any more." "My mind is shot." "I'm losing my mind." "I'm ready to pull my hair out," hysteria, panic attacks, impulsiveness; you could go on aud on. We could talk about Matthew 17, the lunatic, the insane, the eccentric, the recluse, demented and crazy persons.

Go to Romans 12:1-2. "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind (I think one of the most important teachings we need today is to get the mind renewed), that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." You will never know the perfect will of God, unless your mind is renewed. Verse 3, "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith."

1. We need our minds renewed by the Word of God. The Lord wants to renew your mind daily.

2. Meditate on the scriptures. Think the scriptures in your mind. Go to sleep with them on your mind, and even get up with them on your mind. Day and night, think on the Word of God. It is important that we think the Word.

3. We have to forgive everyone that has hurt us. Release them and forgive them, as though they had not done anything to us. Tearing up the I.O.U. is forgiveness. No more debt. We must forgive them, or we will not be forgiven. God will not forgive us, if we do not forgive those that hurt us.

4. We must submit totally to Jesus. He is the one that can deliver us and set us free. Only Jesus can do that. We must submit 100% to Jesus.

5. We must be honest, not only with the Lord, but also with those that would minister to us. We must face our problem. We must admit our problem. If we hide it, then you will not prosper, the scripture says. If you hide your sin, then you will not prosper. You have to be honest with those that minister deliverance to you, because they do not always see what you know.

6. Submit to deliverance at His appointed time. If you are honest, you can get some help. You can only move the mountain when you are honest, and are ready to receive deliverance.

7. We cannot blame others for our problems. Even if others did contribute to it, we cannot blame them. We must look to the Lord for our help. Do not blame others; forgive and ask to be set free.

8. Break all curses, and all ungodly soul ties from others.

9. We have to be patient. You will not get everything out in one day. It takes time. Fasting also helps, because certain kinds of spirits will not go, unless there is fasting.

10. Cast all your care and anxiety on Jesus.

11. Do not look for a quickie, a spiritual quickie. Just skimming the surface, but not going down to the root cause will get you no place.

12. Quit sinning. If we are sinning, it opens us up to a particular problem. Close the door, ask forgiveness, repent and turn from it.
